In Loving Memory
We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and teammate, Peter Lyons, who passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Peter was one of the brightest lights in our community. He had a natural way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. His kindness, laughter, and steady joy stayed with people long after he left the room.
Peter served on the PACE Board for three years as Social Chair and was a longtime member and dedicated supporter of our work. He showed up with care and intention in everything he did. He helped set the tone for connection, whether by welcoming new faces, helping set up events, or bringing small thoughtful touches like coffee or treats that made gatherings feel warm and inviting.
We are holding his family, friends, and all who loved him close in our hearts. We love and miss you, Peter. Rest easy.
PACE Paragon Award
We were honored to present Peter’s family with the PACE Paragon Award in recognition of his lasting impact on the LGBTQ+ community in Shreveport and Northwest Louisiana.
This award recognizes individuals who have made meaningful and lasting contributions to building a stronger and more inclusive community. Peter’s dedication, compassion, and commitment to creating spaces where people felt they belonged reflected the heart of this honor.
His legacy continues through the community he helped build and the many lives he touched along the way.
