The Human Rights Campaign strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ+ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. HRC envisions a world where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people plus community members who use different language to describe identity are ensured equality and embraced as full members of society at home, at work, and in every community.

Verite News is a nonprofit newsroom that operates as part of the Deep South Today network of nonprofit newsrooms. Dedicated to amplifying the voices of vulnerable communities in New Orleans and the broader state of Louisiana, Verite focuses on addressing systemic inequities. In response to the downsizing and failures of local media, Verite elevates voices from historically ignored populations, offering solution-based coverage on crucial issues like education, housing, healthcare, criminal justice, the environment, and government accountability. Their investigative work empowers marginalized communities with the actionable information needed to create change. Verite also fosters the next generation of diverse journalists through partnerships with HBCUs and other institutions, ensuring a pipeline of talent that reflects the communities it serves. Through collaboration and a commitment to truth, fairness, and facts, Verite is working to uplift a region left behind by mainstream media.
