Dr. Amanda Lynn Callegan-Poche, MD
INTERNAL MEDICINE AND PEDIATRICS
Dr. Amanda Callegan-Poche’ joined Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport in 2019 as an assistant professor of Internal Medicine-Pediatrics and associate program director. A Cajun from Plaquemine, Louisiana, she graduated salutatorian from St. John High School in 2007 and earned a magna cum laude biology degree from LSU in 2011. After completing medical school at LSU Health Shreveport in 2015, she finished a combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency, receiving the Continuity Clinic Excellence Award. Dr. Callegan-Poche’ is involved in medical education, supervising residents and students, and works at the Provenance Primary Care Clinic with a focus on LGBTQ+ care, adolescent medicine, and resident wellness.
Dr. Mary Melissa Albritton, MD
ENDOCRINE AND THYROID SPECIALISTS
Dr. Melissa Albritton, a recipient of the SB Magazine Top Doctor Award from 2008 to 2015, has been with Willis-Knighton Endocrine & Thyroid Specialists since 2010. A Louisiana Tech graduate with a degree in chemical engineering, she trained at LSU Health Sciences Center, specializing in endocrinology. Dr. Albritton is dedicated to providing gender-affirming care, including Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, and the Endocrine Society. She is known for her expertise in treating thyroid issues and her commitment to healthcare excellence in Shreveport/Bossier City.

The Philadelphia Center
The Philadelphia Center was developed in the spring of 1990 as concerned citizens were responding to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the Shreveport/Bossier area. Over the past 30 years, The Philadelphia Center has become the HIV/AIDS resource center for Region 7 which serves the parishes of Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, Red River, DeSoto, Sabine, and Natchitoches.

With support from the CDC and the Louisiana Office of Public Health, this guide is a helpful tool for trans women and their families.
