Greater Shreveport Human Relations Commission Members Appointed

On Dec. 9, 2014, the Shreveport City Council confirmed nine members appointed by then Mayor Cedric Glover to serve on the Greater Shreveport Human Relations Commission (HRC). The HRC was created by an ordinance passed by the City Council on June 10, 2014. The HRC will educate, mediate, and hear grievances associated with the Shreveport Fairness Ordinance passed December 10, 2013. Currently the City Attorney’s office and members of the HRC are drawing up policies and procedures that will govern the new commission. The HRC members who will serve from 1 to 3 year staggered terms are:

  • Lindy Broderick (Executive VP of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce; Master’s degree in Human Relations; soon-to-be ordained clergy in Methodist Church)
  • Trina Chu (local attorney; Centenary MBA with an emphasis in Human Relations)
  • Dr. Adrienne Critcher (PACE Political Director; PACE Chair of “Be Fair Shreveport” campaign; Professor Emeritus, LSUS)
  • Dr. Sherry Kerr (educational consultant specializing in multicultural diversity issues)
  • Dr. Lonnie McCray (faculty, Southern University; past President, current auction chair, Philadelphia Center)
  • Rev. Roosevelt Seaberry (Pastor, Union Spring Baptist Church; Manager of Medical Service Area/Culture Diversity for LSU Health Shreveport Medical School; Master’s in Human Services Administration; certificate in EEOC Investigator Training from Federal Employment Law Training Group, Washington, D.C.)
  • Prentiss Smith (MBA; local columnist on political and social commentary; retired, GM; veteran, USAF)
  • Frank Thaxton (former judge and local attorney specializing in mediation)
  • Dr. Felice Williams (faculty, LSUS School of Business, specializing in Organization Behavior/Human Resources/Conflict Dynamics/Team Dynamics
